Congratulations Michigan Hawks for their successful trip to Michigan Nationals and for taking maximum points.
PITTSBURGH – After a pair of back-to-back shutouts to open her collegiate career, Pitt goalkeeper Katelyn McEachern has been named the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Week.
McEachern played the entirety of both games, recording 190:42 minutes in 1-0 wins over Hofstra and Duquesne. The redshirt freshman tallied eight saves, as the Panthers shutout both the Pride and the Dukes en route to a 2-0 opening record.
The league award is the first for the program since Taylor Pryce was named the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29, 2015 following a pair of game winning goals over Wake Forest and Louisville.
Fresh from an outstanding season that saw the Michigan Hawks win 2 National Championships and reclaim the title of the best girls soccer club in the country for the second time in three years, 18 players from the 02 and 03 Hawks were invited to take part in the adidas Elite Soccer Program.
Generation adidas Elite Soccer Program (“ESP”) is the most prestigious and premium experience open to 2002 and 2003 players in America. ESP’s pinnacle annual event is an invitation-only week long immersion that gathers the “best of the best” players to compete on the pitch and bond off it.
Hawks ESP players were able to engage with widely recognized experts in their fields on various subjects such as the competitive mind set, coping with adversity, succeeding where others fail, keys to peak performance, nutrition, training & equipment necessary to optimize performance.
Coach Landefeld :
This is a wonderful initiative by Adidas to promote girls soccer in this country. As a club, we are extremely honored to participate with our partner for 30 years in an event that celebrates and empowers female soccer players. We would like to thank Jason Davis and Generation Adidas for the amazing time and effort they have put into making this event an unforgettable experience for our Hawks players.
